Sam is a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer at Gilbert + Tobin.
He is responsible for G+T’s operational functions and plays a leadership role in the development and implementation of the firm’s overall strategy. With a focus on technology and innovation, Sam drives the firm to challenge the status quo, particularly in relation to the delivery of legal services.
Sam represents the firm on the board of LegalVision, a technology-based legal start-up which is partly owned by Gilbert + Tobin.
Before joining Gilbert + Tobin in 2015, Sam worked in a number of innovation and strategy roles for corporates and was a management consultant. He was most recently Head of Property Innovations at GPT Group, steering its response to the disruptive threats to its retail and office portfolios.
Sam previously held executive roles at Aristocrat Leisure and National Australia Bank, where he led Strategy and Business Development and was General Manager of their Credit Cards & Personal Loans business. He was also a Partner at McKinsey & Company, working with a range of clients across financial services, retail, agribusiness and telecommunications, with a focus on strategy and organisation.
