An-Ru Stevens is a legal operations consultant with a strong track record in driving innovation and transformation across legal teams in Asia-Pacific. With a background in law and certifications in project management and process optimisation, An-Ru brings a unique blend of strategic insight and practical execution to modernising legal functions. Her work is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and a deep commitment to improving how legal professionals work and collaborate.
In her current role as an independent consultant, An-Ru has led initiatives to embed Legal AI tools and build legal operations capabilities for both law firms and in-house teams. She has supported cultural shifts towards experimentation and critical thinking, designed workflows and playbooks for AI adoption, and implemented systems for managing legal spend and vendor relationships. Her recent projects include developing a legal front door and internal knowledge resources for a leading APAC renewable energy company, and coaching lawyers on evolving roles in a tech-enabled legal landscape.
Previously, An-Ru held senior roles at Herbert Smith Freehills, where she spearheaded digital legal delivery and change programmes across Asia. She designed global training for digital adoption, led leadership development academies, and built a graduate legal operations programme.
