Jo Stevenson is the People & Culture Director at Simpson Grierson, one of New Zealand’s leading law firms. A former lawyer, Jo brings a deep understanding of the legal profession and the realities of practicing law into her leadership across culture, capability and workforce strategy.
She has more than a decade of experience in professional services leadership, specialising in building high-trust, high-performance environments where people and technology work together to deliver better outcomes for clients and employees. Jo has driven initiatives to strengthen leadership accountability, redesign performance and remuneration frameworks, and embed wellbeing, belonging and psychological safety as core business priorities. Her focus is always on people, fairness and enabling everyone to thrive in a rapidly changing legal landscape.
Jo works closely with leaders to explore the opportunities and ethical considerations emerging through AI and technology adoption. She is a strong advocate for continuous learning, inclusive leadership and the critical role of culture in successful digital transformation.
