Laura Scampion is Managing Partner of DLA Piper New Zealand. She is also the Head of Employment in New Zealand. Laura focuses on employment and health and safety law. She has a wide range of experience in the United Kingdom and in New Zealand representing a range of employers, many of whom are listed companies.
Laura specialises in all aspects of employment law and is a specialist in large non-contentious projects such as major outsourcing projects, significant restructures, multiple terminations and health and safety audits/advice. Laura acts for major local organisations and often works with other DLA Piper APAC employment partners on large cross border APAC projects.
Laura also leads the firm’s diversity and inclusion programme which encompasses gender, LGBTTQIA+, age, race and culture and agile working groups and has led the introduction of HeadStart to New Zealand, a social mobility initiative aimed at breaking down barriers for those underrepresented and underprivileged to gain access to a career in law.
