Alistair has a legal foundation in property, franchising, asset protection, and general commercial law, with degrees in both Commerce and Law. Alistair enjoys assisting his clients with a broad range of matters (both private and commercial work), and prides himself on establishing long-standing relationships with his clients. Alistair has also had experience practicing in South Africa, and he is comfortable conversing in Afrikaans if clients would prefer to work with an Afrikaans-speaking lawyer in Auckland.
When assisting clients, Alistair employs a pragmatic, client-centred approach, seeking to understand the problem that needs to be solved and the outcome that matters most to the client. He then uses his expertise to navigate the best possible outcome for his clients.
Alistair has been appointed as a Notary Public and can assist clients with witnessing signatures on legal documents, taking sworn documents, administering oaths and certifying the authenticity of legal documents for use overseas.
Over the years, Alistair has been invited to present for the Franchise Association of New Zealand (also known as FANZ) at their annual conference, and many private staff training sessions for businesses around Auckland and further afield about various legal topics that are of particular relevance, such as legal developments in commercial business, conveyancing, or franchising in New Zealand.
Alistair is an active member of the community, having served on the Board of Trustees at Cockle Bay School and sponsored several local events. On the weekends, he spends time with his family and enjoys his DIY projects.
