Scott Moran is the Founder and Director of MoranLaw, an emerging and progressive law firm based in Wellington, New Zealand, specialising in intellectual property, commercial, and private client law. Since launching in 2024, MoranLaw has grown rapidly to 16 people and is earning a reputation for being innovative, approachable, and connected to New Zealand’s creative and business communities..
With over two decades of experience in a large New Zealand firm, Scott brings a strategic, tech-forward approach to legal practice. He is passionate about modernising the profession — blending practical commercial advice with technology-driven efficiency and strong client relationships.
Scott has recently been appointed to the FIFA Football Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Committee.
In addition to his law society memberships, Scott is Scott is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, and the International Trademark Association (INTA), where he serves on the Professional Development Committee. He is ranked by Chambers and Partners and is widely regarded as a trusted advisor.
Outside of practice, Scott serves as Vice President of New Zealand Football and a board member at Special Olympics New Zealand. He is married to Kerina and has three adult children doing exciting things in New Zealand and abroad.
