Ben is Head of Legal for Microsoft ANZ. He leads a team of lawyers and defence & intelligence compliance professionals, and provides strategic legal advice to Microsoft’s sales leadership in the region.  Ben’s team also partners with legal departments, law firms and public sector agencies as they consider implementation of responsible AI in the legal industry context.

Ben joined Microsoft in 2016 and has held roles supporting teams in New Zealand, Australia, the US, and Singapore. He was previously Microsoft’s AI Legal Lead for Asia, helping customers and regulators adopt responsible AI policy and deployment strategies, and supporting Microsoft’s largest and most complex AI deal negotiations.

Ben holds a practicing certificate in New Zealand and New South Wales, Australia.
